Meet our lady from HP…

Nat Pilgrim, HP's Retail Account Manager

Nat Pilgrim, HP's Retail Account Manager

In order to bring you the best deals on branded goods, we work closely with a variety of people from companies around the UK. This week, we thought we’d give you an insight into HP and the starting point of the retail process. Step forward Nat Pilgrim, HP’s Retail Account Manager…

So Nat, tell us a bit about your role – what does an average day comprise?

I’m the online HP Retail Account Manager at HP, looking after several accounts, one of my biggest being Ebuyer. My role varies day-to-day and no one day is the same, which is the reason why I enjoy what I do, and the reason why I would struggle to describe an average day!

And what is your favourite part of the role?

The variety that the role offers, plus working with great people pushing products we really believe in, to meet customer needs with the best service and support possible.

You’ve been working with Ebuyer since November last year. Have you enjoyed working on the account?

Absolutely. They are a great bunch of people with a lot of fantastic ideas, and it’s great to be part of an ambitious team in a fast-paced environment pushing excellent products and offering our customers outstanding online deals.

Your role covers HP’s computing products including laptops, netbooks, desktops and accessories. What are the big trends this year in the way of computing?

Netbooks have shown huge growth over the last couple of years, and they’ve really taken the market by storm. They have helped the overall consumer market to continue to grow considerably year on year, but have also diluted the average sell price due to the lower price points available at that level.

On desktops the big trends are seen in growth of the all-in-one desktop sector which is driving the average sell price upwards and driving the growth in ‘Touch’ technology.

The Compaq series of laptops seems to be really popular with customers and we’ve received great feedback. Why do you think these laptops do so well?

The main reason seems to be that customers understand that they are able to purchase a stylish, high spec laptop at real value for money. They seem to have satisfaction in knowing they will get a quality product with the peace of mind that delivers, but also they will have the service and support that they would come to expect from HP.

The Compaq CQ61 433SA laptop is sleek and stylish, and we’re delighted to say it is exclusive to Ebuyer! Can you tell us a bit about the laptop and its key features?

Due to our excellent relationship with Ebuyer, HP has built a laptop which is exclusive to their customer base. With its dual core processor and 2GB memory, plus webcam, wireless and bluetooth it offers plenty of spec at a bargain price and is only available at www.ebuyer.com !

Since its launch in October 2009, sales of Windows 7 have gone through the roof. All the Compaq series come with Windows 7. Have you found that this is a popular addition?

Absolutely. The Windows 7 operating system has been extremely popular since launch due to its interactive user interface and functionality.

And finally, as always we must ask the desert island question…if you could choose two items to be stranded on an island in the middle of nowhere with, what would they be?

An HP or Compaq laptop with built in 3G with movies on it, and Brad Pitt to watch them with :D

Thanks to Nat for her time and insights. We look forward to future exclusivity on great laptops for you to get your hands on :D

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/186601 = Compaq with XP?!

    Hi Paul,

Yes you’re right, good spot! It is the Compaq Presarios on our site that have Windows 7. The Compaq Mini you mention above has the Windows XP. :)

  3. Paul says:

Will the mini’s be getting Win7? They seem a much better option with the Nvidia ION graphics than other small format machines :D

  4. Natalie says:

Hi Paul, The HP Minis all have Windows 7, except from QF: 204485. However it’s the Windows 7 Starter package and not Home Premium. All the Minis feature Intel GMA and not NVIDIA ION graphics. Let us know how you get on if you decide to buy one.

As per link in first comment, I mean the mini’s that HP brand as Compaq Mini’s in the UK (they are HP Mini’s in the US) with the ION?
