BlackBerry Torch 2 Gets Detailed
Remember when Research In Motion announced that the BlackBerry Torch was going to be the best BlackBerry ever? Well, unfortunately the device never really became competitive in the smartphone marketplace. However, as details regarding the BlackBerry Torch 2 begin to emerge, it looks like RIM’s new QUERTY horizontal slider is set to impress.
All we can say for now is that it’s been confirmed that the BlackBerry Torch 1 will feature a 1.2GHz CPU with hardware acceleration as well as a matte silver finish.
Apple iBooks App Indicates iPad 2 will Quadruple Pixels to 2048×1536
Recent rumours have suggested Apple will give the second generation iPad a much higher resolution screen, although short of the ppi density of the Retina Display of iPhone 4. New graphics discovered within Apple’s iBook app suggest this is true.
Just last summer, iPhone 4 changed its screen resolution going from 320×480 to 640×960, which resulted in an amazing pixel per inch density of 326 as well as four times the pixels. Exceeding the typical resolution of the human eye, the new screen was named “Retina Display”.
Rumours suggest that Apple will quadruple the iPad’s native resolution which will result in a pixel density of around 260 ppi. Not quite Retina Display but still a lot higher compared to most smartphones.
Apple to Give Away $10K for 10 Billionth App Downloader
If you have visited Apple’s App Store site recently you will have certainly noticed the large counter which indicates that the ten billionth download of an app is nearing. Apple decided to celebrate this important milestone by giving away an incredibly generous $10K iTunes gift card to13 year old Connor Mulcahey to mark its 10 billionth app download.
As well as the gift card, lucky Connor received an iPod Touch, a Time Capsule and a MacBook Pro.

Top Gear: Stunt School Reaches Number 2 on App Store
Are you among those who think the BBC should pull itself into the 21st century? Do you think there’s nothing worse than seeing our TV license being spent on Cash In The Attic and The Antiques Roadshow?
Then you will be pleased to know that some of our license fee has been spent on a driving game. Yes, Top Gear: Stunt School is the BBC’s first iPad and iPhone game and, although it doesn’t showcase amazing graphics or car models, it is most definitely good fun.
From car racing to jumping caravans and delivering bombs, the game has over two billion different combinations of upgrades, add-ons as well as unlockable features which will allow you to customise your car with jet engines and monster struck tires.
Don’t forget to let the Stig test your car and see if you can beat his time!
Panasonic’s £380k 152-inch TV
Are you surprised to hear that there have been 31 orders for Panasonic’s 380k television? Well, as well as these initial orders that mainly come from businesses, there have been another 300 enquiries from across the world for Panasonic’s 152-inch model which measures 3.4 by 1.8 metres.
BlackBerry Storm 3 Breaks Cover
The latest leak is the BlackBerry Storm 3. Soon to arrive on the market and despite rumours of its demise, the smartphone has the highest resolution display ever on a BlackBerry (800 x 480 pixels) in a 3.7-inch form. It doesn’t differ from the BlackBerry Torch 2 when it comes to processing power with a 1.2GHz CUP as well as the BlackBerry OS 6.1.
Rumoured to be released in September, it’s been reported that the handset has been codenamed the Monaco / Monza and in terms of branding it’s unclear whether the device will keep its Storm name.
It also seems that there might be more than one version of the device.
