Due to holidays and the general rigours of marketing Ebuyer.com, it has been a few weeks since we’ve had a Cake and Cookie Friday but as the number of pale and sugar-deprived faces increased around the department we thought it was time to bring it back. Step up…designer Andy Orvis and his delicious chocolate fridge cake.
Fridge Cake is GO!
Cake and Cookie Friday has been a revelation in baking talent. Who knew a bunch of marketers had the culinary skills to whip up a delicious cake or batch of cookies without blinking an eye? So, when it came to my turn, I had to really step into unfamiliar territory – the kitchen!
Anyway, I went confectionary crazy and destroyed the kitchen to create “Lee B’s Cheeky Tarts” – Ooo-Err!
Concerned about the ever-growing waistbands in Ebuyer Marketing, chief designer Daryl Walker-Smith opted for a ‘one of your five-a-day’ based cake today for Cake and Cookie Friday. He’s a good egg that lad and our dieticians thanked him and the delicious Carrot Cake he created. Here’s how he did it:

The confectionary baton was passed several times this week as people found little space in their hectic diaries to feed the hungry mouths in Ebuyer Marketing. Eventually after lots of offers to simply ‘buy something’, and Kate’s refusal to allow shop goods in our Cake and Cookie-thon, Multimedia Manager Chris Chart stepped up and said “I will bake” and by-God did he bake!
There were 1020 days on the London 2012 Olympic Games countdown clock but you’d have been forgiven for thinking we’d fast forward three years when Product Manager Mark Pickering and International Buying Director Edison crossed paddles in the Ebuyer Table Tennis Championships.
The event had everything; thrills, spills and paper heads on sticks but it were Edison who eventually walked away as champion. See the action unfold for yourself with this special match report from Ebuyer TV. Video after the jump…
