Internet TVs in homes to double by 2015
A recent market report by DisplaySearch has revealed that over 25% of TVs sold this year have included some form on internet connectivity. The report also projects that by 2015 the total share of TVs with internet connectivity will almost double to 47%.
The primary growth is expected to come from emerging markets such as India, where in 2015 the government will be switching TV broadcasts from analog to digital. The report shows that the adoption of internet enabled TVs isn’t just in developing countries with North America, Western Europe and China set to grow year on year.
